BRB Completes REACH Registration for Silanil® Silane Product Range

BRB has completed REACH registration for its targeted product group within the Silanil® silane product range, validating safe usage in every specific application for which the silane was designed. REACH, which stands for "Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals," requires chemical companies operating in the European Union to demonstrate that supplied products are safe for human health and the environment. Companies in the EU must comply with this regulation as of 31 May 2018. Non-compliance with this regulation carries the risk of market exclusion and production restrictions. BRB's silane product range includes Amino, Epoxy, Vinyl, Methacryloxy and Mercapto, Oxime, Acetoxy, Alkyl and Alkoxy silanes. These silanes are used in cross-linked polyolefins, treated mineral fillers/glass fibres, fibre-reinforced unsaturated polyester, phenolic for casting moulds, epoxy moulding compounds, mineral wool for insulation, artificial marble, paints and coatings, sealants and adhesives, peroxide-cured rubber compounds, sulphur-cured rubber compounds and Ziegler-Natta catalysts.
