Swiss World Leader Sika Entrusts Bora Yıldırım with Regional Management of 20 Middle East Countries

Sika Turkey General Manager Bora Yıldırım will become Sika's Middle East Regional Director as of 1 March 2018.

Sika Group, the Switzerland-based global leader in building chemicals and industrial adhesives, has appointed Bora Yıldırım, who has served as General Manager of Sika Turkey since 2009, as Middle East Regional Director effective 1 March 2018. Within Sika Group's Middle East Region, which encompasses Turkey and Central Asian countries, there are 20 countries and 14 Sika companies with a total population of 580 million. In his new position, which he will manage from the Sika Turkey office, Bora Yıldırım will also assume responsibility as Waterproofing Target Market Manager for the EMEA Region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), which is the largest region within Sika's global structure and covers 60 countries. Bora Yıldırım holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University and an MBA from Marmara University. He began his career with site and field experience before transitioning to the building chemicals sector as a sales engineer. Joining Sika Turkey in 2000 as Assistant Sales and Marketing Manager, he became Business Unit Manager responsible for the Distributor Channel in 2006, and from 2007 onwards, alongside his current position, served as Business Unit Regional Director responsible for Sika's IMEA (India, Middle East and Africa) Region, gaining his first global experience. With a new appointment in 2009, he became both General Manager of Sika Turkey and Director of the Turkey Region, which comprises 10 countries.

Following the announcement of his appointment, Yıldırım expressed great pride on behalf of the country and voiced satisfaction with the attention and recognition that Turkey's construction and building materials sector receives in global circles. Bora Yıldırım stated: "The experience we have as a country in these fields is particularly valuable in the Middle East region and contributes to many productive initiatives."
