Polat Makina Receives Prestigious Award for Female Welders Project

A female welder training programme run within the academy at Polat Makina, aimed at increasing women's participation in the workforce, has been recognised with Dünya Gazetesi's "Social Benefit Award". Through the project titled "Women's Uniting Force", women who had never previously encountered welding equipment receive qualified training to become welding masters.

At the ceremony held at Hilton Maslak in Istanbul, Polat Makina General Manager Latif Mutlu Şahan, who received the award, said, "We continue to invest in line with our objectives. However, we are aware that the greatest investment is investment in people. Skilled human resources are very important, and we place particular emphasis on increasing women's participation in the workforce. In the initial phase, eight female employees trained through qualified education at our academy at Polat Makina are now successfully performing welding work and signing off on our machines. Within the scope of our 'Women's Uniting Force' project, we will increase the number of operators trained in the coming years and continue our sustainable production vision."

Noting that Polat Makina was recognised with the Social Benefit Award in the "Local Work Creating Social Benefit/Local Employment" category, Şahan said, "As a company that manufactures supercritical extraction systems, which operate in nearly every country where olives are grown and will hold an important place in future production methods, our future vision is built on sustainability. We aim to achieve this through increasing local employment. In the coming years, we will provide training aimed at local employment and increase the number of female employees. Our contributions to our country's qualified workforce will continue to grow."
