Chemical Industry Gathers at 8th Chemical Industry Development Congress

[caption id="attachment_71413" align="alignleft"] Chemical Industry Platform[/caption] Key issues facing the sector were discussed and solutions sought at the 8th Chemical Industry Development Congress organised by the Chemical Industry Platform on 15–16 December in Ankara. The chemical sector, which ranks among Turkey's high value-added production potential and strategic sectors, focused on formulas to reduce the trade deficit that has reached USD 40 billion. The sector, targeting USD 50 billion in exports for 2023, found its solution in strengthening Industry-Public-University collaboration, government incentives for high value-added and technological product manufacturing, accelerating sectoral clustering, and improving quality in vocational training while developing new vocational education methods tailored to industry needs. At the close of the congress, Chemical Industry Platform members issued a message of unity and solidarity for Turkey's stability while condemning terrorism. The Chemical Industry Development Congress, held for the eighth time this year by the Chemical Industry Platform (KSP), took place on 15–16 December in Ankara. With the Rubber Association holding the term presidency, members of the Chemical Industry Platform including BOSAD, İKMİB, Rubber Association, KİPLAS, Composite Manufacturers Association, PAGEV, PAGDER, TKSD and other organisations representing the sector, along with government officials, academics from universities across Turkey, sector companies and experts, came together at the 8th Chemical Development Congress to evaluate steps to be taken for the future of the chemical sector.
