Chemical Industry Continues Its Growth
According to data shared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the chemical sector achieved USD 2.5 billion in exports in April, making it the second-largest exporting sector.
The chemical sector is maintaining its strong position in exports. In April, the chemical sector, as the second-largest exporting sector, achieved USD 2.5 billion in exports. With this figure, chemical substances and products exports reached USD 10.5 billion in the first four months.
Exports increased 5% compared to the same month last year
Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB), evaluated the export figures. Pelister noted that in April, they achieved USD 2.5 billion in chemical substances and products exports, representing a 5% increase compared to the same month of the previous year.

"Our sector exports grew 7.3% in the four-month period"
Pointing out that they hold a 15.3% share of Turkey's total exports as the second-largest sector, Pelister stated, "In the first four months, our exports reached USD 10.5 billion. Our sector exports grew 7.3% in the four-month period. As İKMİB, since the beginning of the year we have carried out numerous activities ranging from trade missions to national pavilion participation at fairs, from buying delegations to info stand participation and trade fair visits. We will continue to support our sector and exporters and contribute further to Turkey's export figures through increased efforts. Turkey continues to grow with chemicals," he said.
Mineral fuels and products ranked first with USD 866.856 million
In April, among chemical substances and products groups, mineral fuels and products ranked first with USD 866.856 million. Plastics and articles thereof ranked second with USD 695.680 million in exports, followed by inorganic chemicals with USD 195.578 million. Other sectors in the top ten are as follows: 'essential oils, cosmetics and soap', 'rubber and rubber articles', 'pharmaceutical products', 'paints, varnishes, ink and their preparations', 'miscellaneous chemical substances', 'washing preparations' and 'organic chemicals'.
Exports to the Netherlands increased 173.10%
The country with the highest exports in April was Romania with USD 287.9 million. Other countries in the top ten are: the Netherlands, the United States, Spain, Italy, Russia, Germany, Belgium, Ukraine and Iraq. The country with the highest export growth in April was the Netherlands with 173.70%.
