17 Projects from Sabancı University to Be Supported Under TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 1001 Program

Sabancı University has once again demonstrated its achievements in research. Seventeen projects submitted by the university's faculty members and researchers have been approved for funding under the 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program, run by TÜBİTAK's Directorate of Research Funding Programs (ARDEB).

Sabancı Üniversitesi has once again demonstrated its achievements in research. Seventeen projects submitted by the university's faculty members and researchers have been selected for support under the 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Programme conducted by TÜBİTAK Research Support Programmes Directorate (ARDEB).

Additionally, within the programme framework, Sabancı Üniversitesi will support 7 undergraduate, 15 master's, 20 doctoral and 7 postdoctoral researchers as scholarship recipients.

The TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 1001 Programme supports projects aimed at generating new knowledge, conducting scientific interpretation and solving technological problems. Within this scope, projects from different faculties and research centres of Sabancı Üniversitesi have been selected.

11 Projects from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences
Eleven projects from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences have been selected for support. Among these, key topics include cellular response mechanisms to UV damage, artificial intelligence applications in hybrid manufacturing processes, 6G technologies, political leadership and agenda-setting processes on social networks, water network optimization, gamma-ray bursts, functional inks for green electronics and high-speed silicon-photonic devices.

3 Projects from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has been selected for support with 3 projects on environmentally friendly attitudes and behaviours, energy efficiency investments in the housing sector and economic analysis of parking preferences in the context of sustainable cities.

3 Projects from SUNUM
Sabancı Üniversitesi Nanotechnology Research and Application Centre (SUNUM) has also achieved notable success. Among the centre's accepted projects are:

  • Atmospheric water harvesting and thermoelectric energy generation in low-humidity environments,
  • Development of wearable, biodegradable thermotherapy surfaces,
  • Investigation of stress adaptation and bioprotective potential in tardigrade species.
