Regional Architecture-Compliant Housing Projects (Ministry of Environment and Urbanization)

The second edition of the "Residential Projects Suited to Regional Architectural Characteristics" handbook, prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, has been published. The second edition of the "Residential Projects Suited to Regional Architectural Characteristics" handbook, which Environment and Urbanization Minister Mehmet Özhaseki first signaled for implementation and which covers the cities of Amasya, Balıkesir, Bursa, Edirne, Karabük, Rize, and Trabzon, has been released. The second handbook, which aims to ensure that new structures built in rural areas are constructed in accordance with local architectural character, addressed the cities of Denizli, Erzurum, Iğdır, Kars, Kayseri, Muğla, Nevşehir, Niğde, Uşak, and Şanlıurfa. The handbook, which brings together the characteristics of rural settlement areas in Turkey, notes that each region exhibits different architectural and cultural features. The study, which emphasizes the importance of new structures reflecting the region's cultural characteristics, also covers the issue of "constructing buildings to be resilient against natural disasters," which Environment and Urbanization Minister Mehmet Özhaseki has repeatedly stressed. The work, intended to serve as a guide, has been shared with local administrations and also published in the library section of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization's website.
