Zeki Yurtbay, Founder of Yurtbay Şirketler Grubu, Has Died

Zeki Yurtbay, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Yurtbay Şirketler Grubu, a business group whose work spanning over half a century has demonstrated commercial ethics and made invaluable contributions to Turkey's industry, passed away on 24 September 2020 due to multiple organ failure at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital, where he was receiving treatment. A highly respected businessman who accomplished much during his 82-year life, Zeki Yurtbay was always a pioneering figure through the employment he provided to thousands of people and his contribution to the country's economy. Remembered and valued by those around him for his discipline, modest character and business ethics, Zeki Yurtbay dedicated his life to the pursuit of continuous improvement, guided by a vision of "only the best" for his country. Having entered commercial life at the age of 14, his success story became an exemplary one for a distinguished businessman. Integrity and trustworthiness were the cornerstones of Zeki Yurtbay's commercial ethics. He prioritized being a beneficial person to society and his country through the various investments he made with his earnings. Beginning his commercial venture in the early 1950s, Zeki Yurtbay started with Yurtbay Tuğla brick production in Zonguldak Çaycuma in 1955, driven by the thought of how he could benefit these lands. In subsequent years, he made valuable contributions to the building chemicals and ceramics sectors. Through the brands Delta Tuğla, Yurtbay Yapı Kimyasalları and Yurtbay Seramik, he has provided and continues to provide employment for thousands of people.
