Eksun Gıda Announces First-Quarter Financial Results

Eksun Gıda, one of Turkey's leading flour producers, released its first quarter 2025 financial results to the public. The company's net sales revenue was recorded at TRY 2.7 billion.

Eksun Gıda Group Chairman and CEO Hasan Abdullah Özkan stated regarding the balance sheet: "We have experienced a period in which we continue to take important steps in line with our strategic objectives and add flavor to tables. We support the financial position we have reached with green investments aimed at sustainable production."

Eksun Gıda, which houses over 200 product varieties under the Sinangil and Sinangil Gluten YOK brands, published its first quarter 2025 financial results on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). According to the results prepared in accordance with Turkish Accounting Standards 29 (TAS 29) inflation accounting principles, the company's net sales revenue in the first quarter was TRY 2.7 billion, gross profit was TRY 309 million, and gross profit margin was 11.3%. 

Management process focused on productivity and profitability came to the fore
Evaluating the financial results, Eksun Gıda Group Chairman and CEO Hasan Abdullah Özkan stated: "While progressing in line with our strategic objectives, we continued to add flavor to tables. We operated our operations with a professional management approach nourished by Eksim values. At the end of the quarter, our gross profit, operational profitability and the margins related to these items showed an increase compared to the same period last year. Our gross profit margin increased from 9.6% to 11.3%, our core operating profit margin from 0.2% to 1.8%, and our EBITDA margin, which shows our operational profitability, rose from 1.1% to 3.1%. Although a net period loss of 87 million TL was announced according to data prepared in accordance with Turkish Accounting Standards 29 (TAS 29), according to data without inflation accounting, our company achieved a net period profit of 35 million TL in the same period." Özkan also emphasized that Eksun Gıda currently exports to more than 20 countries. 

"We accelerated our green energy investments"
Stating that they would ensure continuity in production and storage, Özkan said: "We accelerated our investments to procure our energy from green sources. Within the scope of effective use of the proceeds from the successful initial public offering we completed in 2023, we signed a contract worth EUR 14.1 million with Nordex Energy for turbine supply for our wind power plant project with a total capacity of 18.9 MW. Following this development, for our 7 MW and 11.9 MW capacity wind power plants developed under the Unlicensed Generation Management Regulation in the Electricity Market, we received an 'Environmental Impact Assessment Favorable' decision from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey." Noting that projects have gained momentum with the "Environmental Impact Assessment Favorable" evaluation, Özkan stated that this approval confirms their environmentally friendly production vision and that the investment supports their goals of expanding the green portfolio, reducing costs and lowering carbon footprint.

Strategic move in licensed warehousing
Özkan stated that they have made an important investment in the licensed storage area with the integration of Licensed Warehousing Inc., which operates in Babaeski, Kırklareli, into Eksun Gıda, and that with this step they have restructured storage processes with advanced technology solutions.

Noting that operational efficiency has been achieved in many areas such as quality control, material insurance, customized storage solutions and inventory management within the scope of the investment, Özkan stated: "Eksun Gıda, through the advanced tracking systems it has implemented, has raised transparency and quality control to the highest level in all processes from procurement to end user. With this investment, we aim to not only provide storage for our own products, but also offer storage facilities for products belonging to external stakeholders and thus create a new area in the sector. By increasing our storage capacity for right products at the right time, we will be able to move more flexibly in terms of timing and tonnage, providing operational convenience to both the market and farmers." Özkan also emphasized that this step is an important part of Eksun Gıda's goal of creating sectoral differentiation in supply chain management and food safety.

"We grow through R&D and contribute to society with social benefit"
Hasan Abdullah Özkan also mentioned Eksun Gıda's R&D vision: "We not only develop existing projects, but also conduct scientific-based and innovative work that will add value to the sector. We develop various projects with universities ranging from the impact of water on flour quality to the recovery of waste milk products. With our Sinangil brand, Turkey's first packaged gluten-free flour producer, we expand our Gluten YOK product portfolio, and with the Gluten-Free Life and Celiac Summit, which we are organizing for the third time this year, we increase public awareness and continue to create social benefit through NGO collaborations." Özkan said.

"We are developing data-driven supply strategies"
Also noting that they use Smart Forecast technologies to increase supply chain resilience and efficiently manage procurement processes, Özkan stated: "We diversify our domestic and international sources, increasing our contact points. We also evaluate our forecast processes with FVAR analyses, continuously improving our operational accuracy."
