Merck Türkiye Announces New Appointment for MEAR Region
Merck has made a new international assignment for an employee, offering different career opportunities and experiences. Özge Cömert, Merck Turkey Oncology Business Unit Director, will now continue in her role as "New Launches and Marketing Excellence MEAR Region Leader."
Özge Cömert completed her undergraduate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy and her Master's degree (Executive MBA) at Koç University Business School. At Merck, she has worked in regional and global roles, beginning with the Turkey organization.
Cömert started her career at Merck as Turkey Oncology Product Manager, continuing in the Marketing Manager role before being assigned to the Intercontinental Region Oncology Marketing Manager position.

Continuing her career in Market Access and Pricing at the Turkey organization, Cömert also served as a member of the Merck Turkey Leadership Team. During this period, in 2018 she was assigned to the position of Oncology Global Marketing Director through a short-term assignment at the German headquarters.
Following her return to Turkey, Cömert continued in her role as Health Policies, Market Access and Pricing Director while simultaneously being assigned to the Oncology Business Unit Director position. From July 2020, Özge Cömert continued her career as Turkey Oncology Business Unit Director and member of the Merck Turkey Leadership Team.
As of 1 October 2020, Cömert was assigned to the position of "New Launches and Marketing Excellence MEAR Region Leader." In this role, she will work with MEAR (Middle East, Africa, Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States) President Ramsey Murad and will be based in Dubai.
Before joining Merck, Cömert worked at Servier Pharmaceutical between 2005 and 2008. She has 15 years of total experience in the pharmaceutical industry in local, regional and global roles in sales, marketing, health policies, market access and pricing. Including Özge Cömert's assignment, a total of 20 Merck Turkey employees have been assigned to different positions abroad over the last 5 years. These assignments to countries in different geographies such as the United States, Germany, Switzerland and South Africa, as either short-term or permanent positions, are a clear indication that Merck is a company offering different career opportunities and experiences.Advertisement
