Sika Announces Agreement to Acquire Akkim

Sika has agreed to acquire Akkim, a Turkey-based leading global manufacturer in the adhesives and sealants sector.

With this acquisition, Sika aims to strengthen its position in the global sealants and adhesives sector, expand its distribution channels and geographic reach, and create significant growth opportunities. Additionally, Akkim will add substantial manufacturing capacity, further enhancing operational efficiency.

Akkim, a rapidly growing family business with continuously expanding global presence in the sealants and adhesives sector, generated approximately CHF 220 million in net sales revenue in 2025. With its broad customer base and comprehensive and established distribution network, Akkim serves high-growth potential markets in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Thanks to its rich product portfolio, it covers diverse adhesive and sealant application areas and technologies for the construction sector, and is based on proprietary formulations developed by a strong R&D team.

Akkim operates two large-scale, highly efficient manufacturing facilities in Turkey and Romania, and is further strengthening its capacity with a major additional facility in Turkey to support its forward-looking growth. These strategically located manufacturing facilities offer the potential to serve a wide geography and function as production and export hubs.

This acquisition is fully aligned with Sika's 2028 Strategy targets, which focus on expanding the sealants and adhesives business line and increasing distribution strength in this segment. Akkim's strong channel expertise and extensive network will make important contributions to further developing Sika's distribution, retail and e-commerce operations.

Key Value Elements of the Acquisition
• Product portfolio expansion: Akkim will significantly expand Sika's sealants and adhesives product range, particularly for the distribution channel. The combined broad product portfolio will strengthen Sika's position as the preferred business partner for distributors and open up significant new growth opportunities with key customers across the region.
• Leveraging customer and channel access: Akkim's comprehensive distribution network will significantly increase Sika's customer access and offer cross-selling opportunities in complementary products such as repair mortars and waterproofing solutions. Together with expanded geographic reach, the integrated product and solution portfolio will create a strong foundation for accelerating growth.
• Expanding production network and capacity: Akkim's strategically located, highly efficient manufacturing facilities will strongly complement Sika's existing operational structure. This acquisition will support long-term growth by contributing to the creation of an efficient production and export hub for distribution-focused adhesives and sealants.
