Flokser Kimya Roof and Facade Panel Systems In the construction sector, sandwich panels are widely used on building facades and roofs as a durable and long-lasting thermal insulation material that protects structures from external factors. Sandwich panels can be manufactured by using materials such as polyurethane (PUR) foam, polyisocyanurate foam (PIR), polystyrene and mineral wool as filler between two thin metal sheets. Polyurethane foams stand out as an increasingly preferred product in roof and facade panels due to their lightweight, modern, durable and high-performance insulation material properties. PUR and PIR foams are produced from two components: isocyanate (MDI) and polyol mixture. For PUR, MDI and polyol components are applied in a balanced ratio by comparing their molecular weights, while in PIR production, high amounts of MDI and additives are used to enable this excess MDI to react. PIR insulation products exhibit good fire performance as a result of the special additives they contain and the reaction of excess MDI, thereby reducing the flammability of polyurethane foam. Due to their closed-cell structure, both PUR and PIR materials exhibit excellent thermal insulation properties. PUR and PIR foams, owing to their superior insulation performance, reduce heating costs while also reducing CO2 emissions caused by resources used to produce heat. Flokser Kimya offers products in a wide product range that can meet sector requirements for roof and facade panel applications. The technical properties of PUR and PIR products with many advantages such as superior mechanical properties and application in different types and thicknesses are provided in Table 1. In sandwich panel production, the selection of the product according to suitable mechanical strength, insulation and fire performance, taking into account the application area and production process information, is an important parameter. As Flokser Kimya, the product with code Creapol RC 2410-38 with an application density value of 28-42 kg/m3 that we offer to the sector; it can easily work on all short or long panel lines in the 40-100 mm thickness range, has excellent adhesion to sheet metal and strong mechanical strength performance. According to customer demand, as seen in Figure 1, for the need to produce panels with higher thickness values (≥100 mm), the Creapol RC 2424-40 product with superior curing and strength properties is offered. As a PIR insulation foam, the product with code Creapol RC 3434-30, which shows excellent fire performance as a result of the special additives it contains and the reaction of excess MDI compared to standard PUR foam, is presented in Figure 2. The technical properties of our new PUR foam systems, developed to create an alternative to standard production methods and products known in the sector and with customer requirements at the forefront, are presented in Table 2. Roof insulation panels manufactured with polyurethane filler material 10 mm thick, with one side galvanized sheet metal and the other side polyethylene film, have been established as a new application method in the insulation sector in recent years. For this application method, the product with code Creapol RC 2449-30 developed by Flokser Kimya has become one of the leading products in the sector with its high dimensional stability and strength, and strong adhesion to metal and polyethylene. Figure 3 presents a visual of the product after application. Figure 3. PUR foam panel application with galvanized sheet metal on one side and polyethylene film on the other side. Our product with code Creapol RC 1414-30, offered to the sector according to customer satisfaction and demand, particularly in the production of roof panels 40-60 mm thick, offers an advantage of 15-35% in raw material consumption with low application densities compared to standard PUR foams. In addition, its similar performance to high-density products in adhesion and compressive strength properties has made it a preferred product in the sector. A.
