FujiSilTM vs. Conventional Silicon Dioxide
Conventional silicon dioxide is used as a flow enhancer or absorption carrier due to its inertness. (When in aqueous suspension, it has a neutral pH value). However, because its compressibility and flowability are low, it may hinder tablet hardness or make the powder processing process more difficult. FujiSil™, developed by Fuji using special methods, has eliminated all the shortcomings of conventional silicate. Due to the numerous pores and large surface area in FujiSil™, high absorption capacity is provided.
Comparison of FujiSil™ with Conventional Silicon Dioxide*
Comparison of Tablet Hardness between FujiSil™ and Other SiO2
Conventional silicon dioxide causes tablet hardness to decrease. However, no sign of this effect is observed in FujiSil™.Application in Taste-Masking Granules
FujiSil™ is a spherical absorption carrier with high flowability properties. It can also be used as an inert core to produce smaller taste-masking granules than conventional carriers. In addition, compared with other inert cores, it also reduces granulation time.Application in Moisture Protection
FujiSil™ provides moisture protection for hygroscopic APIs due to its high moisture absorption properties. FujiSil™ helps increase the stability of moisture-sensitive and hygroscopic drugs.Application in Solid Dispersions
Converting poorly soluble APIs into an amorphous state increases solubility. FujiSil™ is a porous inorganic pharmaceutical excipient and can be used as a carrier to stabilize the amorphous form. It is prepared using the spray drying method and at the same time has high flowability properties, which assists in subsequent processes.Pharmacopeias and Registration
FujiSil™ is listed in USP/NF (as Silicon Dioxide), EP (as Colloidal Silicate Hydrate) and JPE. A US DMF Type IV application will also be made.FujiSil™-F Properties
FujiSil™-F is a pharmaceutical excipient for dietary supplements. It is a product from the FujiSil pharmaceutical excipient family and has high absorption, flowability and compressibility properties.FujiSil™-F as an Oil Absorption Carrier
FujiSil™-F has a high oil absorption value and is suitable for absorption carrying processes. In addition, due to its spherical granules, it shows high flowability properties.Application in Moisture Protection
FujiSil™-F provides moisture protection for hygroscopic and moisture-sensitive plant extracts.Safety Information
FujiSil™-F is amorphous. Declarations regarding BSE/TSE, Non-GMO and non-allergenic nature are provided upon request. FujiSil™-F does not contain organic solvent residues.Solid Dispersion Application of Neusilin® , Fujicalin® and FujiSil™ Products
The method of converting the active substance into an amorphous form is a technique used to increase the solubility of poorly soluble APIs. Porous inorganic pharmaceutical excipients Neusilin® and Fujicalin® stabilize the amorphous form of APIs. They can also be used as inert carriers to prepare amorphous solid dispersions using the spray drying (SD) method or hot-melt extrusion (HME) methods.FujiSil™-F Properties
• Versatile pharmaceutical excipient with high compressibility and flowability properties. • Due to high moisture absorption properties, it minimizes the decrease in hardness under high humidity storage conditions. • Due to its water-wicking properties, it prevents tablet disintegration. • Retains high flowability properties even after absorption. • Can be used as a carrier for taste-masking granules and solid dispersions. • Helps provide moisture protection for hygroscopic and moisture-sensitive drugs. • A versatile pharmaceutical excipient due to its inertness and high flowability properties. • Has high absorption value and enables powdering of oily substances. • Oil-absorbed FujiSil™-F maintains high flowability due to its spherical shape. • When used as a carrier, FujiSil™-F prevents leakage of oily substances after tableting. • Applied for moisture protection of hygroscopic and moisture-sensitive plant extracts.Advertisement
