ITM Coated Pigments and Powders: Advantages in Color Cosmetic Formulations

Cosmetics surface treatment powders or colorants typically consist of hydrophilic fine particles. When applied to cosmetics, poor texture results in reduced stability. Surface treatment of powders with silicone, fatty acids, natural substances or resins therefore allows cosmetics to be applied easily and adds new functions without powder presence. This is powder surface treatment technology. In cosmetic formulation applications with this technology: • Although dispersion in the raw material is very weak with surface treatment technology, dispersion capability increases with surface treatment, improving touch feel and spreadability, • Finished product stability is secured, • Skin irritation is reduced, • One of its most important features is that surface treatment technology can prevent color and odor changes in the finished product. One of these applications is ITM surface treatment. ITM coating is a surface treatment material double-coated with Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate and Myristic Acid, composed of high-purity rutile-type titanium dioxide free of silicon and aluminum, Talc, Sericite, Mica and iron oxide. It is a raw material from EASTHILL, our Korean supplier, of which we are the principal distributor. ITM-coated pigments provide excellent whiteness, high hiding power, and excellent dispersibility in Ester Oil and Hydrocarbon Oil. At the same time, the fatty acid used in double surface treatment provides a smooth texture. High water-repellent properties provide long-lasting makeup effect. It is suitable for silicon-free formulations and supports this claim. Additionally, high-purity iron oxides are used with strict heavy metal management. ITM-coated Talc, Mica Sericite provides soft texture, whiteness, silky texture, excellent dispersibility, long-lasting makeup permanence without skin toxicity and without skin irritation at high quality.
