Novares Series W
Water-Based Systems Modification Novares W resins are water-compatible modifiers for water-based systems. Compatible with different systems such as epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic and PVA, they have strong hydrophobic properties. They impart anti-corrosive properties to the system and increase the adhesion of the system to the surface.
Novares W Series Provides Multi-Faceted Improvements with Water-Based Systems
• Flexibility,
• Chemical resistance,
• Improved pigment wetting and crushing,
• Salt spray test durability,
• Improved flow,
• Excellent film formation.
Novares W products are in the aromatic monomer group and are inherently strongly hydrophobic. Due to their structure, they positively affect wetting properties on metal. Water-based epoxy provides improved adhesion, hydrophobic properties and enhanced anti-corrosive characteristics. The results of continuous condensation testing in particular demonstrate these benefits.
The Novares W series offers the ability to modify the drying behavior of water-based epoxy formulations according to specific requirements. On one hand, Novares W and WA 2 can be used to slow curing, which provides the self-leveling property particularly required for flooring applications. The Novares WA7 product accelerates the cure of water-based epoxy formulations.
Modification of Water-Based Acrylics
In addition to water-based epoxy systems, the Novares W series provides positive contributions to water-based acrylic systems; • Better wetting on metal surfaces, • Improved water repellency, • Plasticizing properties, • Excellent gloss and flow, • High increase in anti-corrosive properties. Improvement of surface properties Novares W and WA 2 can be used as a volatile organic compound-free coalescing agent. This provides improved surface properties, particularly with gloss and leveling, due to the low Tg. Due to its hydrophobic and aromatic nature, the Novares W series can be used in water-based acrylic formulations to effectively improve water and chemical resistance.Hot Water Immersion Test (24 Hours at 60°C)
While the unmodified formulation failed due to severe blistering, no blistering occurred in the modified formulation.Corrosion Prevention Properties
Besides its hydrophobic properties, the modifier agents improve wetting properties and, as proven by continuous salt spray testing, also develop corrosion prevention properties. The Novares W series demonstrates excellent performance after 240 hours. Sevda Bicerikli Sales Engineer PolikemAdvertisement
