TotalEnergies and Partners Establish Closed-Loop Recycling Chain for Construction Films
Total and its partners in the construction value chain have decided to collaborate on establishing the Clean Site Circular Project, which aims to recycle natural pallet wrap* waste from the construction sector in a closed loop without compromising film performance.
The closed-loop "pallet wrap-to-pallet wrap" application has previously been demonstrated to be industrially feasible and technically equivalent to new solutions. The film formulation has been developed by Total.
To meet growing market requirements, the use of Total Lumicene Supertough® 22ST05 as a "reinforcing agent" for recycled materials is necessary.
The Clean Site Circular Project, coordinated by Valipac, brings together key companies in the value chain: Morssinkhof, which produces high-quality recycled materials from collected pallet wraps; Total Polymers, which developed the film formulation and reinforcing agent for recycled materials; and Fema, a building materials manufacturer in Belgium.
