EİB Achieves Exports of $1.453 Billion

EİB achieved USD 1.453 billion in exports in August with a 44% increase. During the January-August 2021 period, EİB brought Turkey USD 10.339 billion with 28% momentum, and reached USD 15.265 billion in the last 12 months with a 20% increase.

Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri Coordinator President Jack Eskinazi: "In August, our Agricultural Unions achieved 24% growth in exports, reaching USD 475 million, while our Industrial Unions achieved 57% growth, reaching USD 874 million. Our Mining sector exports reached USD 103 million with a 50% increase.

Our Steel Union broke the USD 200 million mark for the second time, setting a new record. Our Mining Union has stabilized exports at the USD 100 million level. The export performance we have demonstrated in recent months as EİB demonstrates that we can achieve USD 1.5 billion in monthly exports and shows how realistic our USD 18 billion target set for 2022 is.

In June we exceeded the USD 1.5 billion barrier with a 51% increase. Our August figures represent both the highest August figures in EİB history and our highest exports on a monthly basis in 2021 after June."

Commenting on August figures by country, Jack Eskinazi continued: "Our exports to the European Union reached USD 618 million with 26% momentum, while our exports to other European countries reached USD 129 million with a 54% increase.

Thus, Europe's share in our total exports reached 51%. We experienced 84% increases to African countries and 96% increases to Asian and Oceanian countries. We had USD 169 million in exports to American countries with a 63% increase, USD 160 million to Middle Eastern countries with a 31% increase, USD 67 million to former Eastern Bloc countries, and USD 27 million to Turkic Republics with a 141% increase."

Eskinazi listed the top 20 countries in Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri exports as follows: "We experienced 30% export increases to Germany, 57% to the United Kingdom, 47% to Italy, 62% to the USA, 34% to Russia, and 50% to Israel.

Hong Kong experienced astronomical growth at 1,270%. We experienced increases exceeding 200% in our exports to Egypt and Azerbaijan. We also increased our exports to our target market China by 55%."

The export figure for provinces in the Aegean Region reached USD 2.465 billion in August. İzmir, which ranks among Turkey's provinces with the highest exports, achieved USD 1.331 billion in exports in August.

Manisa exported USD 435 million, Denizli USD 401 million, Muğla USD 63 million, Balıkesir USD 65 million, Aydın USD 71 million, Kütahya USD 39 million, Afyonkarahisar USD 33 million, and Uşak USD 27 million.
