Abdi İbrahim Otsuka, established in 2012 through a partnership between Abdi İbrahim, leader of Turkey's pharmaceutical sector, and Otsuka, Japan's pharmaceutical giant, is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year.

Noting that Abdi İbrahim's drive for improvement combined with Otsuka's innovative face has brought significant contributions to both companies, Barut said, "Abdi İbrahim Otsuka is not merely a structure established through the partnership of two different companies, but also a fine example of the harmony of two different cultures."

Ichiro Otsuka, President of Otsuka Pharmaceutical, expressed his satisfaction that the ongoing successful cooperation between Abdi İbrahim and Otsuka has continued for five years under a strong partnership framework. He stated, "When we signed the agreement in 2012, Abdi İbrahim was celebrating its 100th anniversary; we will celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2021.

Barut noted that they have been in a business partnership with Otsuka for approximately 15 years, built on trust and growing stronger, saying "Our relationship, which began in 2003 within the scope of licensing, transformed into a partnership in 2012. We established Abdi İbrahim Otsuka with a 50-50 partnership structure.

Abdi İbrahim Otsuka is Turkey's first and only Japanese pharmaceutical partnership. Noting that they produce Otsuka's innovative products at high quality standards in their facilities in Turkey, Barut continued his remarks: "While continuing to contribute to local production on the one hand, on the other hand we are putting important therapeutic products at the service of Turkish medicine.

We are not limiting ourselves to Turkey alone; we are also exporting these products to Algeria, Tunisia and Singapore. We aim to become Turkey's number one Japanese pharmaceutical company by 2023."

Celebrating Abdi İbrahim Otsuka's 5th anniversary, Otsuka expressed his satisfaction that the ongoing successful cooperation between Abdi İbrahim and Otsuka has continued for five years under a strong partnership framework.

Noting that they are continuing their efforts to increase the number of countries to which they export from Turkey, Elkin stated, "In 2018 we will introduce two new products to Turkish medicine that represent the world's first and only treatments for drug-resistant tuberculosis patients and polycystic kidney disease."

Noting that the FDA, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, has approved ABILIFY MYCITE, the world's first digital drug system produced by Otsuka that can be digitally tracked in the body, Elkin said, "We take great pride in this achievement.

Following this approval, we will all witness the beginning of a brand new era in the pharmaceutical industry. We have started working to bring this system to Turkey."
