Turkey's Inclusion in EU's "Made in EU" Draft Pleases Exporters

Turkey's consideration within the Customs Union framework in the EU's "Made in EU" draft was welcomed by exporters.

Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of Aegean Exporter Associations, expressed satisfaction that constructive dialogue conducted recently is yielding concrete results.

Eskinazi stated: "We are pleased that the intensive and constructive diplomatic engagement conducted with the European Union in economic and commercial fields is producing positive results. Within the framework of the Industrial Acceleration Act and 'Made in EU' policy that the EU continues to prepare, the consideration of Turkey and the existing Customs Union in this policy is an important indicator of the strong economic integration and mutual trust between the two parties."

Emphasizing that consultations conducted between Turkey and the European Union are important for the sustainability of commercial relations, Eskinazi noted that Turkey's role within European value chains was confirmed once again during this process.

"Turkey has a production structure integrated with the European industrial ecosystem for many years. From automotive to machinery, from textiles to chemicals, we are an important and reliable part of European value chains in many sectors. We believe that the steps taken in this context will contribute to further strengthening economic cooperation between Turkey and the European Union."

President Eskinazi noted that Turkey's active trade diplomacy played an important role in this positive development, and specifically highlighted the contribution of the Ministry of Trade to the process.

"Our Ministry of Trade has played a major role in successfully carrying out this process. We believe that the constructive, solution-oriented approach demonstrated by our Trade Minister Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat in his contacts with the European Union has significantly contributed to this positive outcome. I express my gratitude to our Ministry of Trade and Minister Bolat and his team, who strongly advocate for the interests of Turkish business and our exporters on international platforms."

Eskinazi also emphasized that economic cooperation between Turkey and the European Union should deepen further in the coming period, concluding his remarks as follows:

"Strengthening the economic partnership between Turkey and the European Union, increasing the competitiveness of value chains, and accelerating green and digital transformation processes are of great importance. We believe that in this process, with strong cooperation between the public and private sectors, we will take our economic integration with Europe to a higher level."
