Countdown has begun for the Baltalimanı Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant set to be implemented. For Bonus Stone Wool products that will have a signature in the external facade insulation of 4 tanks of the facility, Eryap Group CEO Emrullah ERUSLU stated, "We will ensure that the facility not only saves our seas but also increases energy savings and supports our country's sustainable development." The mucilage problem that started in the Marmara Sea and poses a threat to the Aegean and Black Sea regions continues to hold a place among Turkey's main agenda items. In response to the mucilage, which emerges due to rising sea temperatures and pollution as a result of climate crisis and leads to a decrease in marine biodiversity, the search for solutions continues. As efforts to clean mucilage from the sea surface accelerate, attention is turning to permanent applications that will prevent damage to marine life. Most recently, İSKİ announced that it will implement the Baltalimanı Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will purify Istanbul's wastewater through biological methods and will free the Istanbul Strait of 70,000 tons of sludge annually. According to information obtained, the insulation materials for the external surfaces of 4 tanks with an external area of 15,000 square meters will be supplied by Eryap Group's Bonus Insulation brand, which has continued uninterrupted production activities for 20 years with the motto of being a leading brand producer in the insulation sector.

"We are pleased to protect a facility that will serve the environment and humanity"

In a statement regarding the subject, Eryap Group CEO Emrullah Eruslu said, "Our Bonus Stone Wool product will be used in the insulation of the Baltalimanı Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant's tanks. This project is a project to which we attach considerable importance as Bonus Insulation. Both in terms of technical details and as a project that will play a key role in addressing the mucilage disaster that our Marmara Sea is struggling with, one of the main agenda issues of our country. This facility will not only save our seas from the mucilage disaster but will also support our country's sustainable development by maintaining energy efficiency at the highest level. We are proud and pleased that the Bonus Stone Wool product we produce in our 100% Turkish capital and high-tech facilities in Sakarya Hendek will protect a valuable and important facility that will serve the environment and humanity," he said.

Guarantees energy efficiency

Eruslu also noted that there is a common misconception that insulation with stone wool is generally necessary only for residential buildings. "Stone wool is a heat and sound insulation material containing natural fibers, fire-resistant, and water-repellent. It is also used for large facilities beneficial to the environment and humanity. Moreover, for such facilities, insulation is even more important both in terms of the natural resources they use and the risks they carry. The Bonus Stone Wool developed by our engineers, in addition to its use in residential buildings domestically, is a premium product that we export to various countries and has CE standards, which means compliance with EU standards, and guarantees energy efficiency. With a low thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.036 W/mK, various densities and thicknesses, and non-dusting properties, it is also user and applicator friendly," he said.
