Kenan Baytaş Begins Second Term at BOSAD

The 12th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Paints and Paint Raw Materials Industry Association (BOSAD), the umbrella organization of the paints and coatings sector, was held with high attendance on 26 May 2025. At the general assembly, incumbent Board Chairman Kenan Baytaş was re-elected as chairman by unanimous vote, renewing confidence in his leadership.

Baytaş, elected to the chairmanship for the second time by BOSAD members, evaluated the work carried out in the previous term during his address at the general assembly, stating: "Over the two-year period behind us, through the meticulous work we have pursued and with the contributions of you valued members, we have undertaken important projects. BOSAD, which has operated for 22 years as the sole professional representative of the sector, today guides the sector with 118 member organizations and 15 working groups." He used these words.

Baytaş also conveyed his targets for the new term, saying: "We will continue our vision of making BOSAD a reference point both in Turkey and on the international stage. Increasing the representation rate of our association, promoting the product quality and sustainability approach of Turkish paint industry globally are among our core priorities. By closely monitoring international developments, we will continue to contribute to the global-level development of our sector."

Kenan Baytaş also touched on current economic data of the sector, stating: "Our paints and paint raw materials exports have approached 1.5 billion dollars. This figure corresponds to 5% of the approximately USD 30.8 billion total chemical substances exports and demonstrates the importance of our sector in foreign trade. We will continue our efforts to take this success to even higher levels."

Prof. Dr. Kerem Alkin, who participated in the meeting as a guest speaker, comprehensively evaluated global economic developments and their impacts on the paint industry.
