Çimsa Wins 5 Awards at the Champions of Exporters Ceremony

The Union of Exporters of Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Clay Products held the "3rd Export Champions Awards Ceremony." Çimsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, won 5 first-place awards and topped the rankings. The company received the first-place award as the company with the highest cement sector exports at the "2020 Export Champions Awards Ceremony" with USD 163 million in exports achieved in 2020. At the awards ceremony, it also won 4 first-place awards in different categories.  

USD 168 Million in Exports Achieved

Çimsa General Manager Umut Zenar made a statement. Zenar said, "As Çimsa, we became the sector leader by receiving 5 first-place awards with USD 163 million in exports conducted in the period of 1 January 2020 – 31 December 2020. We earned the right to receive these awards with our successful export performance shown in 2020. As the sector leader, we are extremely proud to be deemed worthy of these awards. We thank all Çimsa employees who contributed to this achievement." Zenar, who stated that they increased export rates by 36 percent, added, "USD 168 million in exports achieved in the first 9 months of 2021 is proof of how much we deserve this success. Moreover, we not only increased exports but also doubled our turnover and profit. Compared to the same period of the previous year, we increased our turnover two-fold in the nine months of this year, raising it from TRY 1,344 million to TRY 2,533 million. In the same period, our net profit rose to TRY 665 million." he said. Noting that they continued with their international investments, Zenar also mentioned that with Buñol, the white cement plant in Spain purchased by Sabancı Holding and its subsidiary Cimsa Sabancı Cement BV, they took a very important step toward globalization.
