Danfoss Participates in the 7th Livable Cities Symposium

The 7th Liveable Cities Symposium, bringing together many specialized institutions and organizations from Turkey and around the world, took place in Istanbul on 22 November 2019 under the title "Low carbon is not enough, now is the time for zero carbon." At the event organized to contribute to projects developed with a "liveable cities for all" approach, Emre Gören, General Manager of Danfoss Turkey, who participated in the panel themed "Zero Carbon Cities," shared Danfoss's zero carbon approach and applicable solutions for smart cities. In his address at the symposium, Danfoss Turkey's General Manager Emre Gören stated that the company's targets are to reduce energy and CO₂ intensity by 50 percent by 2030 compared to 2007, and explained that they have implemented numerous measures and products to further reduce energy consumption and enable more environmentally friendly investments in buildings and processes, sharing the progress Danfoss has made toward its targets. Gören noted that since 2007, energy intensity has decreased by 43 percent and CO₂ intensity by 27 percent as Danfoss.   Gören said, "Buildings represent both the greatest energy potential within a city and the greatest potential for reducing waste gas emissions released to the environment. As long as these are controlled, more sustainable and liveable cities can be created. As Danfoss, we produce energy efficiency solutions for buildings and the towns and cities composed of buildings, aiming through this to achieve two things: first, savings, and second, reduction of environmental pollution. The solution that enables these two benefits in cities is district heating. District heating, one of the areas in which Danfoss actively operates, provides savings between 30 and 50 percent while also reducing carbon emissions by 30 to 40 percent, using local heat sources for this purpose."
