According to İMİB Data, Mining Sector's 9-Month Total Exports Reached USD 3.37 Billion

Istanbul Mining Exporters Association (İMİB) Chairman Aydın Dinçer announced export figures recorded as of the end of September 2018. Dinçer stated that mining exports in the first nine months of the year reached USD 3.37 billion, representing a 3.33% decline compared to the same period of the previous year, and that mining exports in September amounted to USD 364 million. İMİB Chairman Aydın Dinçer disclosed export figures for the mining sector, which holds strategic importance for Turkey's economy. Dinçer said that Turkey's total mining exports in the first nine months of the year reached USD 3.37 billion, down 3.33% compared to the same period of the previous year, while mining exports in September reached USD 364 million. Dinçer also disclosed export figures achieved in mining sector sub-categories during the nine-month period. Industrial minerals exports increased 14.91% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching USD 731.7 million, metallic ore exports declined 9.20% to USD 955.1 million, and block natural stone exports fell 12.88% to USD 711.2 million. Dinçer noted that processed natural stone exports increased 2.07% to USD 712.7 million compared to the same period of the previous year, while ferro-alloys declined 15.97% to USD 171 million, and mineral fuels exports fell 7.93% to USD 8.86 million. Dinçer also stated that the countries to which the mining sector exported the most during the nine-month period of 2018 were, in order: People's Republic of China, United States, Saudi Arabia, India and Iraq.
