Namık Ekinci Appointed Coordinator Chairman of İMMİB

The Istanbul Mining and Metals Exporters Associations (İMMİB), which comprises six unions and accounts for 30 percent of Turkey's total exports, achieved USD 43.6 billion in exports in 2014, has appointed a new coordinator chairman. Steel Exporters Association Chairman Namık Ekinci took over the İMMİB Coordinator Chairmanship, which he will hold for one year, from Istanbul Mining Exporters Association Chairman Ali Kahyaoğlu.

Namık Ekinci to Lead İMMİB Coordinator Chairmanship Throughout the Coming Year

Within İMMİB, there are six exporters associations: Steel Exporters Association, Electrical Electronics and Services Exporters Association, Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association, Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, Istanbul Mining Exporters Association and Jewellery Exporters Association. The Board Chairmen of the six associations take on the İMMİB Coordinator Chairmanship on a rotating basis each year. Steel Exporters Association (ÇİB) Board Chairman Namık Ekinci will hold the İMMİB Coordinator Chairmanship position for the coming one year.

Will Represent at Official Organisations and Activities

During his term, Namık Ekinci will represent the Istanbul Mining and Metals Exporters Associations, one of 13 general secretariats nationwide and the one with the highest exports among them, at all official organisations and activities. He will ensure coordination and harmony in numerous activities ranging from trade missions within the secretariat structure to fair organisations.

Namık Ekinci, noting that taking on the İMMİB Coordinator Chairmanship represents both great honour and responsibility, stated: "Our six associations united under the İMMİB umbrella, which accounts for 30 percent of Turkey's exports, achieved USD 43.6 billion in exports in 2014. Exports, which are among the most important factors supporting Turkey's economic growth targets, are being increased despite all difficulties. In the new term, our goal will be to further develop our export activities and increase our share of Turkey's exports," he said.
