KSO Organizes Sustainability Awards

Kocaeli Chamber of Industry is organizing the "Kocaeli Chamber of Industry Sustainability Awards." The application process has begun, and companies can submit applications until 4 December. Kocaeli Chamber of Industry has redesigned the "Sectoral Performance Evaluation" awards program that it has been organizing for 15 years to align with the changing needs of the times and global requirements. KSO has made sustainability the central theme of the program.

Promoting Sustainability Awareness in Industry

The purpose of the awards ceremony, which will be held for the first time this year under the name "Kocaeli Chamber of Industry Sustainability Awards," is to encourage companies that have successfully integrated environmental, social, and corporate governance factors alongside financial factors within the framework of sustainable development tools into their operations, and to contribute to raising awareness of sustainability in industry.

Companies Will Be Evaluated on 7 Main Criteria

Companies located in the Marmara region and operating in the manufacturing industry for at least 3 years can apply for the KSO Sustainability Awards. Participating companies will be evaluated by jury members under the headings of Financial and Operational Performance and Sustainability in 7 main criteria: Financial Performance, Foreign Trade, Operational Efficiency, Human Resources and Employment, ESG (environmental, social, governance), Digitalization, Research and Development, and Innovation. Following jury evaluation, first, second, and third place award winners will be determined in two separate categories: SMEs and Large Enterprises. Additionally, an "Excellence Award" will be given to an enterprise that has succeeded in making a difference in all criteria. The Solution Partners of the organization are Price Waterhouse Coopers Turkey, Economic Development Foundation (İKV), Major Independent Audit and Certified Public Accounting Services, UNDP Turkey, Turkey Economic Policy Research Foundation (TEPAV), MEXT Technology Center, Kocaeli University, Gebze Technical University, Veribis, Eastern Marmara ABIGEM A.Ş, Nasıl Bir Ekonomi Newspaper, and BloombergHT.

Companies Can Complete the Application Questionnaire Until 4 December 2023

Participation in the "KSO Sustainability Awards" organization is subject to a fee. Participation fees are TRY 5,000.00 for SME-sized enterprises and TRY 25,000.00 for large-sized enterprises. Companies wishing to apply for the organization can complete the application questionnaire through the website www.ksosurdurulebilirlik.org by 4 December 2023. Companies applying for this program will have the opportunity to both review their competitive sustainability competencies and enhance their brand reputation. Companies that qualify for awards will receive special discounts from İZAYDAŞ for one year regarding waste disposal. Additionally, feedback reports prepared in collaboration with Price Waterhouse Coopers and Eastern Marmara ABIGEM A.Ş will be sent to all participating companies. Companies will be able to see areas open to improvement through this report and have the opportunity to address their deficiencies.
