L'Oréal Unveils Prototype Wearable Microfluidic Sensor for Measuring Skin pH Levels

L'Oréal has introduced a prototype of the latest innovation developed by L'Oréal Technology Incubator. My Skin Track pH, presented by La Roche-Posay, is a wearable sensor and companion application that easily measures individual skin pH levels and creates personalized product regimens for better skin care. My Skin Track pH was honored with the CES 2019 Innovation Award in the Wearable Products category. The sensor was developed in collaboration with La Roche-Posay, L'Oréal's skincare brand. La Roche-Posay worked in close collaboration with dermatologists to develop safe and effective skincare products and committed to bringing scientific advances directly to consumers. Guive Balooch, Vice President of L'Oréal Technology Incubator, a division of L'Oréal Research, said: "The scientific and medical communities have long known the connection between skin pH levels and the common skin problems experienced daily by millions of people." My Skin Track pH, a small, thin, flexible sensor, represents a technology that is still very new for L'Oréal in the field of personalized skincare. Using microfluidic technology to measure individual skin pH levels, the first wearable for skin captures trace amounts of sweat from skin pores through a microchannel network and provides an accurate pH value within 15 minutes.
