Masks Sent to the US as Part of National Production Mobilization

Turkey's Exporters Assembly (TİM), together with 61 exporter unions under its umbrella, has shipped 100,000 masks produced under the National Production Mobilization initiative to Maryland in the United States. Covid-19 TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, noting that they have also delivered nearly 1,000 hygiene kits to 165 different cities in the US in support of the global fight against the pandemic, stated: "As TİM, we believe in the unifying power of goodwill. Developing international cooperation is of great importance in minimizing the negative effects of the epidemic. We have provided medical material support not only to the US, but also to China, Austria, Spain and Cameroon. We have sent hygiene kits exceeding 10,000 units to more than 60 countries." Under the mobilization launched by TİM together with its exporter unions under the slogan "We have produced for our exports until today. Now we are producing for our health," 100,000 masks were delivered to Maryland in the United States. Turkey's Ambassador to Washington Serdar Kılıç symbolically handed over 3 boxes of masks to Maryland State Secretary John Wobensmith on behalf of TİM, representing 74 boxes of masks. TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, stating that they are proud to have kept their promise to provide medical material support to Maryland, said: "Today the US stands out as one of our important trading partners. In 2019, the US became the 5th country where Turkey realized the most exports. In particular, in the fight against the Covid-19 global virus epidemic, the strong cooperation-based aspect of Turkey-US relations has proven itself once again. This is a valuable matter for the people of both countries. While the increase observed in trade volume between the two countries is encouraging, we are aware of what our mutual targets should be when we consider the total trade volumes of Turkey and the US. As the Ambassador knows, we view the 100 billion dollar target in bilateral trade with the US as a strategic objective for TİM. Turkey's Logistics Centers will play a major role in reaching this target. We continue our efforts to rapidly establish and create Logistics Centers in the UK, Dubai, the US, East and West Africa," he said.

"We will overcome this epidemic together"

Gülle noted that Turkey has demonstrated itself to be an important supplier and a noble nation through the medical material support it has provided to all corners of the world, and emphasized that as TİM they believe in the unifying power of goodwill. Gülle continued his remarks as follows: "Developing international cooperation is of great importance in minimizing the negative effects of the epidemic. We have provided medical material support not only to the US, but also to China, Austria, Spain and Cameroon. In addition, through the "#GoodnessFromTürkiye" project implemented by our Turkey Promotion Group operating within our Assembly, we aimed to revive the spirit of solidarity by sending specially designed hygiene kits to major buyers in our target markets, commercial association representatives and media representatives. The more than 10,000 kits prepared were delivered to major buyers, commercial association representatives, media representatives and world-renowned social media influencers in more than 60 countries with a letter containing messages of cooperation and support in fighting the virus and emphasizing awareness of Turkish products. As of today, we have shipped nearly 1,000 hygiene kits to 165 different cities in the US. God willing, with mutual cooperation, we will overcome this epidemic together."
