Takeda Türkiye Spreads Goodwill for Tohum Autism Foundation at Bozcaada Marathon
Takeda Turkey participated in the Bozcaada Marathon on behalf of Tohum Autism Foundation, an organization established to pioneer early diagnosis of autistic children and their integration into society through special education, running for good and contributing to approximately 1.5 years of education for one autistic child
Founded in Japan and one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies today with its established heritage, Takeda continues to participate alongside its employees in projects that benefit society and make a difference in social issues in Turkey.
Having previously supported Hayata Sarıl Restaurant and, throughout the year, the Needs Map project led by renowned theatre actor Mert Fırat, Takeda Turkey took part in the 12 May Bozcaada Half Marathon with 10 employees to support Tohum Autism Foundation and take stronger, bolder steps.
Takeda runners completed the challenging 10km course throughout the marathon wearing t-shirts with the Tohum Autism Foundation logo, creating awareness and, through the significant donations they collected, bringing light to the future and education of autistic children.
While education, a legal right for every child, is available to only 29,905 of the 352,000 autistic children and youth aged 0-18 in Turkey, Tohum Autism Foundation conducts advocacy and awareness work to enable more autistic individuals to receive education. This year, the foundation set a target to run for good to support the special education of three children.
United for this noble cause, the Takeda Turkey marathon team contributed to approximately 1.5 years of special education for one child at the Bozcaada Marathon.
