Talya Launches Science-Based New Era in Food Supplements and Aromatherapy

Talya, one of the leading brands in the food supplements and aromatherapy sector, has introduced its Science Board to the public just days before 2026. The board, composed of expert academics in their fields, was unveiled at a press conference held in Antalya on 17 December 2025.

Talya, a leading brand in the dietary supplements and aromatherapy sector, introduced its Science Board to the public just days ahead of 2026. The board, composed of expert academics in their fields, was presented at a press conference held in Antalya on 17 December 2025.

The conference, attended by Science Board members Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pala and Prof. Dr. İffet İrem Tatlı Çankaya, addressed the scientific foundations of dietary supplements and aromatherapy, correct usage approaches, and the rising need for information in these areas. At the conference, which drew intense media interest, Talya's science-based approach in product development processes and the Science Board's role in these processes were comprehensively presented.

Science Board at the Centre of Talya's Product Development
The conference highlighted the growing daily need for accurate information and scientific guidance in dietary supplements and aromatherapy. It was emphasized that these products should not be evaluated merely as supplementary items, but rather as areas requiring scientific guidance, correct ingredient selection and informed use.

Talya has stepped beyond the scientific consultancy it receives from universities in R&D and production processes by establishing a Science Board that creates a central structure to guide the brand across a wide range of areas—from product contents to formulation processes, monitoring scientific literature to communicating accurate information to consumers.

Expert Academics in the Talya Science Board

The Talya Science Board includes the following members:

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pala – Chairman of the Board of Directors, Diabetes, Obesity and Nutrition Association

Prof. Dr. İlkay Erdoğan Orhan – Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Lokman Hekim University

Prof. Dr. İsmail Tufan – Head of Department of Gerontology, Akdeniz University

Prof. Dr. İffet İrem Tatlı Çankaya – Faculty Member, Faculty of Pharmacy, Hacettepe University

"Scientific Accuracy and Transparency are Our Greatest Responsibility"
Speaking at the conference, Talya Bitkisel Founder M. Halis Ertaş emphasized that credibility in sensitive areas such as dietary supplements and aromatherapy can only be achieved through scientific accuracy and transparency:

"As Talya, we believe our greatest responsibility while operating in these areas is scientific accuracy and transparency. Our Science Board plays an active role in all processes from ingredient selection to formulations. We do not adopt any approach not supported by scientific data. Our aim is to provide consumers with reliable and effective products while also contributing to the spread of accurate information."

"We Should Focus on Preventive Medicine Rather Than Treatment"
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pala, drawing attention to the direct relationship between dietary supplement efficacy and correct ingredient selection, quality standards and informed use, made the following assessment:

"Food and nutrition are not merely an individual choice; they are a strategic area that directly impacts public health. The rise of chronic diseases makes preventive medicine essential rather than treatment. Particularly, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, defined as 'hidden hunger,' are a serious problem. Scientifically-based and properly-used dietary supplements are an important complement to preventive medicine."

"Safe Aromatherapy is Not Possible Without Scientific Production and Analysis"
Prof. Dr. İffet İrem Tatlı Çankaya, emphasizing the vital importance of standardization in herbal products and aromatherapy, stated:

"The process of validating traditional knowledge through scientific methods and converting it into safe products is critical. The efficacy and safety of volatile and fixed oils are possible through correct botanical material selection, appropriate production techniques and comprehensive analytical controls. Standardization is an indispensable element of quality and safety."

Çankaya also emphasized that consumers having label literacy skills and reviewing analysis reports to ensure informed use is of great importance from a public health perspective.

Sustainable and Reliable Products Under Scientific Guidance
At the end of the conference, it was once again stressed that the Talya Science Board guides the brand on product contents, formulation processes, monitoring scientific literature and consumer information. With its science-based approach, Talya aims to open the doors to a new era in the sector focused on trust, transparency and sustainability.
