Turkey's Food Industry Employers' Union (TUGIS), founded on 24 January 1961 as one of Turkey's first employer unions, is celebrating its 64th anniversary.
TUGIS, which was among the founders of the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TISK), continues to develop sectoral collaborations alongside its union activities, produce joint solution proposals, and promote sustainability at every stage of the food chain from farm to table.
Kaan Sidar, Chairman of the Management Board of Turkey's Food Industry Employers' Union (TUGIS), made a statement on the occasion of the union's founding anniversary: "With our vision of next-generation active employer unionism, we support the competitiveness of our food sector and the sustainable development of our member companies. Through the food summits, seminars and webinars we organize, we continue to bring all stakeholders in the sector together to develop joint solution proposals," he said.
"We will elevate our food industry to the position it deserves"
Kaan Sidar, Chairman of the Management Board of Turkey's Food Industry Employers' Union (TUGIS), made statements on the occasion of the founding anniversary: "For 64 years, as an active solution partner of the food sector, we are aware that dialogue has become even more important in today's business world, where change and transformation are accelerating. In this direction, we continue to play an active role in collective bargaining negotiation processes and continue our efforts to strengthen our economy and social welfare," he said.
Sidar, emphasizing that TUGIS is an employer union established under Law No. 6356 on Unions and Collective Labor Agreements and houses leading organizations in the food sector under its roof, but that its activities are not limited to union matters alone, stated: "In addition to promoting modern production understanding through sustainability policies, conducting work to elevate Turkish food industry to the position it deserves in the global arena also ranks among our union's core missions. We have implemented many projects that guide our sector in this direction. Disseminating correct information about food, preventing misinformation in the sector, and informative activities that support employee development have always been our main priorities," he said.
"We are building the future of the food ecosystem together"
Sidar noted that with their vision of next-generation active employer unionism, they also support the competitiveness of the food sector and the sustainable development of TUGIS member companies: "Through the food summits, seminars and webinars we organize, we continue to bring all stakeholders in the sector together to develop joint solution proposals and build the future of the food ecosystem together. As an employer union that puts forward innovative solutions, acts on scientific data and always places communication at the center, we sincerely thank all our members who support us," he said.
