Turkey's construction sector launches first distance-learning system Yapı Okulu to train roofing specialists!

The Roofing Manufacturers and Businessmen Association (ÇATIDER) is marking a first in the construction sector. ÇATIDER, which offers free training through the e-learning project 'Yapı Okulu' to masters preparing to enter the roofing profession and those seeking to develop their skills, aims to ensure that more qualified and better-equipped workers are employed on roofing projects.

'Yapı Okulu' will contribute to the entire construction sector in phases.

The Roofing Manufacturers and Businessmen Association (ÇATIDER), which carries out important work for the development of the roofing sector and an increase in qualified workforce, is now preparing to bring qualified new workers to the sector through 'Yapı Okulu', an e-learning project. yapiokulu.org, Yapı Okulu will benefit not only roofing practitioners but also architects, project offices, distributors, retailers, implementation firms, and architecture students.

ÇATIDER Board Chairman Adil Baştanoğlu noted that while Turkey's roofing sector has developed significantly in recent years in terms of technology, materials, and application, they still face a shortage of qualified workers, and stated the following:

"As the largest organization in the roofing sector, we conduct very important work toward the sector's development and an increase in our educated workforce. We provide technical education to students at universities, vocational training to masters without roofing certification, and share information about current practices with our instructors who teach roofing.

Roofing is an attractive profession, but young people often miss out on a good career opportunity because they lack sufficient knowledge about the roofing sector. By bringing them into the roofing sector, we offer them a job opportunity valid everywhere in Turkey while also strengthening the sector's future."

Free training opportunity

In the e-learning project Yapı Okulu, accessible at yapiokulu.org, all processes from the design to delivery of roofing systems suited to conditions in Turkey are shared in an interactive manner.

The e-learning site contains both practical and vocational training courses, explaining application-oriented processes alongside theoretical lessons. To take advantage of the free training opportunity, it is sufficient to register on the site.

The yapiokulu.org site features video explanations for each lesson and allows users to download lecture notes. The distance-learning "e-learning" site "Yapı Okulu", a first in Turkey's construction sector, will serve as a stepping stone for Turkish industry.
