Music Boost for Renewable Energy
"Transforming Our World for the Future" marked the "Renewable Energy Day" celebration at the United Nations Bonn premises.
The "Renewable Energy Day," launched by the Renewable Energy Ambassador and Ruslana through the "Global 100% Renewable Energy Platform" initiative, is supported by numerous civil society organizations, including students' "Fridays for Future" platform.
Arieb Azhar, a pioneer of contemporary Sufi music from Pakistan, along with Makeda from Trinidad and Ruslana, brought energy to the Renewable Energy Day celebration with their music.
Prof. Dr. Filiz Karaosmanoğlu, Faculty Member at Istanbul Technical University and Chair of the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D), underlined the importance of the technical potential of renewable energy sources in our country, stating that Turkey's leading domestic forces in combating climate change are our sun, our wind, our water, and our biomass.
Karaosmanoğlu noted that the energy of students and youth increased hopes and expressed the expectation that this meaningful day would soon be declared as one of the official UN days.
Prof. Karaosmanoğlu, stating that as SÜT-D, renewable energy sources are indispensable in sustainability management and advocating that the share of renewable energy must increase on the path to a low-carbon economy, emphasized that they prioritize this matter in their activities, and concluded by saying that we celebrate Renewable Energy Day with our stakeholders, particularly our colleagues in the energy sector.
