Yenişim Completes Project

YENİŞİM Project Completed Kale Design and Art Center (KTSM), a pioneer of the "Look After the World" movement and a consistent advocate for making the world a better place through art and design, has completed the "YENİŞİM: Business Model Development in Creative Industries Project" implemented with the support of Istanbul Development Agency (İSTKA). Kale Group, which believes the world will be a better place through art and design and has made sustainable investments based on this vision, is making rapid progress toward becoming a center of attraction at Kale Design and Art Center (KTSM), a production and meeting platform that enables interdisciplinary exchanges. KTSM, which received support from Istanbul Development Agency—working under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology—for the second time, also hosted numerous projects and events focused on sustainable living in 2022. The YENİŞİM: Business Model Development in Creative Industries Project, which began in November 2021, contributed to the sector's advancement through an education-workshop-incubation model by developing the business model production capacity of Istanbul's creative industries ecosystem. Within the program scope at KTSM: • Research study and digital report titled New Professions and Business Models in Creative Industries: An Istanbul-specific study, • Business Model Development Training and Workshops in Creative Industries, • Support for 2 projects through the Incubation Program, • 8 KaleTALKS events, • Guest Artist Program • In Transit Exhibition • Development and integration of the library, search engine and community tools modules, • Access to international creative sector publishing databases, • Establishment of integrated library membership system

About Kale Design and Art Center

Kale Design and Art Center is an interdisciplinary production and meeting platform. Focusing on responsible production and consumption—a priority of the Sustainable Development Goals—KTSM is also a pioneer of the Look After the World movement. KTSM, which advocates for ideas that generate social benefit, has each floor designed to encompass a different production and learning space. In addition to design and art workshops, the center hosts lectures and presentations, a ceramic production area with a ceramic kiln; an exhibition space on the ground floor for sharing authentic, free and meaningful creations; a library with over 1,500 books focused on design and art; and a workshop with publicly accessible three-dimensional printing equipment and various production materials. Kale Group, which believes in sustainability not only in art and design but in every aspect of life, has allocated a special space within KTSM: Roots Studio Cafe. The cafe, which supports local producers and operates on a "zero waste" philosophy, hosts thought-provoking long table conversations on food design. Kale Design and Art Center also hosts the memories, possessions and experiences of İbrahim Bodur, founder of Kale Group.
