Leadership Change at Evonik Istanbul, Oktay Aşkın has become General Manager of Evonik Ticaret, located in Tuzla. Evonik, which operates actively in more than 100 countries, achieved sales of EUR 18.5 billion in 2022 and operating profit (adjusted EBITDA) of EUR 2.49 billion. Beyond chemistry, Evonik creates innovative, profitable and sustainable solutions for its customers. The company, with approximately 34,000 employees worldwide, serves Turkey with 200 personnel, 60 of whom are part of Evonik Ticaret.

Who is Oktay Aşkın?

Evonik Ticaret's new General Manager, Oktay Aşkın, began his career in 1999 at Evonik's Comfort & Insulation Business Line (formerly Goldschmidt GmbH) and continued as Sales Manager responsible for Western Europe and Latin America regions, with India and Turkey subsequently added to his areas of responsibility. In 2012, he was appointed Business Development Director responsible for Turkey and Azerbaijan at Evonik Ticaret and established numerous new business lines, laying the foundations for continuous growth. From 2017 onwards, he held the position of Business Director managing domestic sales, marketing and technical teams, and additionally served as Deputy General Manager from 2020 until February 2023. Today, Evonik Ticaret serves 13 different business lines and operates as a structure providing application laboratories, technology and service centers as well as technical services, meeting the needs not only of Turkey but also of the Middle East and Africa.
