Polat Makina Takes Major Step Toward Green Transformation

Polat Makina, which represents Turkey in 45 countries worldwide with domestically developed technology machinery, has installed a solar energy system (SES) with a capacity of 2,400 kWe (AC) through an investment of approximately 2 million dollars.

With the SES installed on the roof of Polat Makina's new factory, annual electricity generation of 4.9 million kWh is targeted. Additionally, with this step, it is expected that as of 2027, all of the electricity generated will be used in the production facilities.

Polat Makina aims to generate 4.9 million kWh of electricity annually with a solar energy system with a capacity of 2,400 kWe (AC) put into operation through a 2 million dollar investment. With the investment incentive certificate from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, electricity generation started on 18 October at the SES installed on the factory's 28,500 square meter roof. With the commissioning of the facility, all of Polat Makina's annual electricity consumption of approximately 3 million kW will be met from solar energy. With the factory's capacity increase, as of 2027, all of the electricity generated is targeted to be used in the production facilities.

Rıza Korkut Özdemir, General Manager of Polat Group Holding, stated that with this investment, realized through the vision of Polat Group Holding Founder and Honorary Chairman İbrahim Polat, Polat Group Holding Board Chairman Olcay Polat and other board members, they have taken a major step within the scope of green transformation targets. Özdemir expressed that they feel the responsibility to leave future generations with more sustainable production methods, driven by their respect for nature. Stating that they selected domestically produced solar panels used in the investment with the goal of high efficiency, Özdemir said that the panel cleaning will also be carried out autonomously by robots.

Emphasizing that the visionary perspective of İbrahim Polat, the project's architect, motivates them to develop more sustainable production methods, Özdemir said: "We always set our targets high and work with strong motivation to achieve them. We brought our roof-type solar energy system to life in line with our sustainability vision. We did not limit sustainability to just production stages, but expanded it to include the generation of the energy we need, taking another important step toward our green transformation targets. We will continue our efforts with determination to minimize our carbon footprint in all business processes."
