Betek Enters New Phase on Path to Becoming a Regional Power

BETEK Boya ve Kimya Sanayi A.Ş., which operates in the paints and thermal insulation sector and includes the Nippon Paint, Filli Boya, Fawori, Tempo and Dalmaçyalı brands under its umbrella, has made a significant development in its organizational structure.

Within the Nippon Paint Holding to which it is affiliated, Turkey became a production, technology and strategy center for Turkey, Kazakhstan, Egypt and the region it is responsible for, and Tayfun Küçükoğlu was appointed to the role of Turkey Group CEO. Hasan Gökhan Güner was appointed to the position of BETEK Turkey General Manager.
With its innovative institutional identity, BETEK brought strong paints and thermal insulation sector brands to our country and has achieved many successes since its foundation in 1988. It pioneered the sector's development in Turkey and continues to do so. Following the strategic growth moves achieved in Turkey and neighboring geographies over the last five years in parallel with the partnership with Japan-based Nippon Paint Holding, a new era is beginning at BETEK. With the restructuring implemented to grow further in the regions where it operates, expand into new countries and increase operational efficiency, Turkey has moved to a central position on the path to becoming a regional power in its area of responsibility.
Turkey Elevated to Regional Hub Status
With this organizational change, the Turkey Group became not only a production, innovation, research and development and technology hub, but also the management and responsibility center of its own region. In addition to operations in Kazakhstan and Egypt managed through Turkey, investments will continue to be developed to increase Nippon Paint's strategic success in the region by evaluating opportunities in potential countries.
Tayfun Küçükoğlu Appointed to Turkey Group CEO Position
In the new structure that will take effect as of 1 January, Tayfun Küçükoğlu, who held the position of BETEK General Manager and Management Board Member, was appointed to the Turkey Group CEO position. Küçükoğlu, who was a founding member of BETEK when it was established in 1988 and held various positions within the company, served continuously as General Manager for 29 years while also serving as a Management Board Member. In parallel with the Turkey Group CEO position, Küçükoğlu will manage the growth, investments and profitability of Nippon Paint's operations in Turkey, Kazakhstan, Egypt and other regional markets.
Tayfun Küçükoğlu, a founding member of the Paint Manufacturers Association, who served as Chairman of the Management Board of İZODER (Heat, Water, Sound and Fire Insulation Manufacturers Association) between 2015-2017, currently serves as Chairman of the Management Board of İMSAD (Construction Materials Manufacturers Association).
General Manager Position Entrusted to Hasan Gökhan Güner
Following Tayfun Küçükoğlu's appointment from the position of BETEK General Manager to Turkey Group CEO, Hasan Gökhan Güner, who had served as CFO at BETEK for many years in his professional background, was appointed to the General Manager position as of 1 January. Güner, a graduate of the Economics Department at Boğaziçi University who began his career at E&Y, continued his CFO roles at STFA Construction Group and BETEK.
Hasan Gökhan Güner, who previously had nearly 20 years of management experience within BETEK, will balance financial soundness with long-term strategic growth of the Turkey Group in his General Manager role, while focusing on digitalization, managing the Group with a more dynamic and agile management approach and continuing his activities under Tayfun Küçükoğlu.
