La Lorraine Türkiye Accelerates Growth with New Investment in Its 10th Year

Belgium-based La Lorraine Bakery Group is marking its 10th anniversary in Turkey with an investment in a new-generation artisan bread production line commissioned at its Manisa facility. With this investment, the company is increasing its production capacity and product range while continuing to position Turkey as one of the centers of its regional growth strategy.

Belgium-based La Lorraine Bakery Group celebrates its 10th year in Turkey with the launch of a next-generation artisan bread production line at its Manisa facility. With this investment, the company is increasing production capacity and product diversity while continuing to position Turkey as one of the key centres in its regional growth strategy.

La Lorraine Bakery Group, which operates in more than 40 countries and continues its global growth with high-quality bakery products, has significantly expanded its operations in Turkey over the past 10 years. The company's production facility in Manisa now stands out as a strategic production hub for Turkey and the Middle East, operating five production lines in the artisan bread, viennoiserie and savoury pastry categories.

Over EUR 100 million invested in Turkey
La Lorraine Turkey began its local production activities in 2016 with a fully automatic bread line established in Manisa. Over the past 10 years, through investments to strengthen production infrastructure, the company has invested over EUR 100 million in Turkey.

With more than 20 regional sales offices across Turkey, the company provides employment to approximately 750 people together with its distributor network. Through the bake-off model it has developed, La Lorraine Turkey offers freshly baked products to consumers in the retail and foodservice sectors around the clock, and has managed to double sales over the past 5 years.

With the new artisan bread line, the company aims to double sales again over the next 5-year period.

"Turkey plays a critical role in our growth strategy"
La Lorraine Bakery Group CEO Guido Vanherpe noted that Turkey was the company's first investment market outside Europe, and stressed the importance of the potential Turkey offers in terms of strong bread culture and bake-off technology for growth strategies.

Vanherpe emphasised that Turkey and the Middle East play a key role in the company's expansion strategy towards the east, and stated that La Lorraine Turkey is positioned as a strategic hub for the group in reaching its 2030 targets.

"The Manisa facility carries cultural responsibility for us"
La Lorraine Turkey & Middle East Regional Vice President Neslihan Nigiz Ulak stated that with the new artisan bread line, they have increased their capacity to deliver more characteristic, high-quality and innovative products.

Pointing out that in Turkey bread is not only a food product but also a cultural value, Ulak noted that the Manisa facility is positioned in line with this understanding. Ulak said the company aims to strengthen its sustainable product leadership strategy in the coming period, and to make Turkey a centre of regional excellence for Middle East and North Africa operations.

Bake-off technology transforming the bakery model
La Lorraine Bakery Group is considered one of the pioneer companies in the transformation of the bakery sector through bake-off technology, which it developed in the 1980s. This technology, based on freezing products before the baking stage, allows the final baking to be completed at the point of sale and ensures fresh products are available to consumers around the clock.

The company today operates with more than 1,500 varieties of fresh and frozen products including bread, pastry products, viennoiserie and savoury items.

2030 target: Double sales
La Lorraine Bakery Group operates with 18 production facilities in 10 countries and over 5,700 employees, reaching EUR 1.57 billion in turnover in 2025.

With new investments it is making in Turkey, the company aims to continue its sustainable growth, expand its innovative product portfolio and double sales by 2030.
