**Astellas Pharma Makes International Appointment**

Astellas Pharma announced that Dr. Özdemir Şengören, who has successfully led operations as General Manager of Astellas Pharma Turkey since 2020, has been appointed to the position of General Manager of Astellas Pharma Brazil. As a pioneer of change in the healthcare sector, focused on transforming patients' futures and producing medicines for 'unmet needs', Astellas Pharma has made a senior-level appointment. Astellas Pharma Turkey's General Manager for the past three years, Dr. Özdemir Şengören, will continue his duties as General Manager of Astellas Pharma Brazil effective 1 August 2023. Since 2020, Dr. Özdemir Şengören has achieved numerous accomplishments at Astellas Pharma Turkey and made significant contributions to the company's financial development and growth. With over 25 years of industry experience and leadership capabilities, he will contribute to Astellas Pharma Brazil's achievement of global success targets. [caption id="attachment_155503" align="aligncenter"] Dr. Özdemir Şengören[/caption] A graduate of Marmara University Faculty of Medicine with a successful track record in market access, sales and marketing, product lifecycle management, partnership management and business development, Dr. Özdemir Şengören held management positions at international companies including Abbott, Wyeth and Merck, respectively. During his tenure as Turkey and MEA Regional Head at UCB, a Belgium-based biopharmaceutical company, he led the successful transformation of Turkey and Middle East-Africa organizations, achieving significant increases in revenue, profitability and employee engagement. Before joining Astellas, Şengören most recently served as General Manager and Board Member at Farma-Tek, an Istanbul-based pharmaceutical company, and joined the Astellas family from 2020 onwards. As General Manager of the Turkey organization, Şengören led high-performing teams within the framework of Astellas' global objectives and patient-focused initiatives, and will continue his duties as General Manager of Astellas Pharma Brazil.
