Turkish Cosmetics Sector Targets Growth in Australian Market

The Cosmeet Australia Cosmetics Sector Trade Mission, organized to strengthen Turkey's cosmetics sector export potential and open access to new markets, brought together leading Australian cosmetics importers, distributors and retail companies with Turkish firms.

The Cosmeet Australia Cosmetics Sector Trade Mission, held for the first time in Sydney, Australia, was successfully completed by the Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB). Organized with support from the Ministry of Commerce, the mission included 13 companies from Turkey. A total of 168 bilateral business meetings took place between Turkish and Australian firms.

Within the scope of the mission program held in Sydney between 21-27 June 2025, bilateral business meetings, sectoral presentations, company, supermarket and store visits, and market analysis briefing sessions were organized. The event aims to present Turkey's export strength and branding vision in cosmetics and personal care products to the world.

The delegation, which included İKMİB Board Member and Cosmetics, Cleaning and Private Label Sector Committee Chair Uğur Adıyaman and TİM Delegate Süleyman Özgür Öztürk, was joined by 13 Turkish companies with a wide product range from skin care products to natural cosmetics, hair care to makeup. Turkish Ambassador to Canberra Ufuk Gezer, Turkish Consul General in Sydney Belgin Ergüneş and Turkish Trade Advisor in Sydney Yavuz Gökçayır visited the delegation to provide information on the Australian cosmetics and personal care market.

168 bilateral business meetings held
Turkish brands' innovative, quality and natural-content products received great interest in the Australian market. Within the scope of the mission, presentations on e-commerce in Australia were delivered, and meetings with 3PL and fulfillment companies were held. Distribution channels in the Australian market, cosmetics stores, supermarkets and department stores were visited for market and product analysis. A total of 168 bilateral business meetings took place during the mission. Turkish companies seized the opportunity to develop business partnerships in Australia and establish new export connections.

Highlighting the importance of sectoral trade missions, İKMİB Board Chair Adil Pelister said, "As İKMİB, we are taking our exporters to new markets through our sectoral trade missions and national participation organizations. So far in 2025, we have carried out 7 national participations, 6 trade missions and 5 info stand participations; we plan to organize 10 more trade missions by year-end. Australia offers great opportunities for Turkish brands both as a growing cosmetics market and due to its strategic position as a gateway to Asia-Pacific.
