Human-robot collaboration is driving the automotive industry into the future

Robots and CNC machines contribute significantly to production efficiency in the automotive sector, as they do across all industries worldwide. In today's environment where efficiency is one of the most critical benchmarks, robots enable companies that use this technology intelligently to stand out in the competitive landscape. FANUC technologies provide ideal solutions for the automotive sector

Robots are used in almost every stage of the production line in the automotive sector. Highly demanding tasks that require high efficiency, are repetitive and could pose risks to human health are among the most important reasons for the widespread preference for robots.

Lower maintenance costs and easy installation

FANUC manufactures robots used in automotive body production lines, primarily for spot welding, vehicle body component transfer, sealant application, arc welding, vehicle measurement and painting operations, in line with factory requirements. In addition, FANUC offers vision processing products, force sensors, trajectory acceleration options, robots known as ZDT, and IoT solutions that enable communication, monitoring and early problem detection among connected peripheral equipment. These systems allow potential issues to be identified before they occur. Beyond robots, FANUC utilizes CNC, laser, Power Motion, Robodrill, Roboshot and Robocut technologies on a single common platform, minimizing the need for additional interfaces and cabling. Solutions include versatile assembly configurations as well as fast and compact spot robots with small footprints, compact machining centers and intelligent DCS (Dual Check Safety) software that allows precise determination of the robot's working area according to defined safety zones. Meanwhile, FANUC's M-2000 robot series with four robot models in the 900kg to 2,300kg carrying capacity range, which plays a role in vehicle assembly transfer, demonstrates its advantages over traditional conveyors through higher efficiency, lower maintenance costs and easy installation.

Over one hundred thousand installed robots

FANUC Turkey General Manager Teoman Alper Yiğit notes that FANUC has over one hundred thousand installed robots operating in the production lines of automotive giants in the Americas, Asia and European markets. Yiğit states that the world's leading reputable automotive manufacturers use FANUC technologies that continue to develop with each passing day. Expressing that in the future equipped with IoT technologies, the automotive sector will achieve productivity levels well beyond today's standards, Yiğit predicts that in coming years more advanced technologies will be used that can operate interconnected through networks, offering decision-making and planning capabilities. Drawing attention to FANUC's provision of modular yet uninterrupted data flow as a company, Alper Yiğit continued as follows: "We are in the midst of an entirely new production model built on high energy efficiency, maximum space savings and human-machine collaboration, and with each passing day we are developing new models that will bring about radical changes.
