ASAŞ Continues to Regreen Nature with "Sen de Bir Tohum At" Project

ASAŞ, which aligns its sustainability vision with environmental and social benefits, continues its efforts to support the reforestation of the Marmaris Hisarönü region, which was damaged by wildfires in 2021.

ASAŞ, one of Turkey's leading industrial enterprises, continues its work in environmental sustainability with determination. Under the project carried out in cooperation with Ecording, a partner of the United Nations Ecosystem Restoration programme, efforts are being made to reforest areas affected by fire in the Marmaris Hisarönü region.

During this process, ASAŞ aims to reach broader audiences with the project and increase public awareness.

Return to Nature with Innovative Technology
Using EcoDrone technology in the project, seeds of tree species suitable for the region are brought together with nature. Thanks to drones that mimic the flight movements of birds, areas difficult for humans to access can be reached and seeds can be safely placed in the soil.

Protected with a special clay coating to prevent consumption by animals and dispersal by wind, the seeds are prepared by disadvantaged women living in regions affected by the global climate crisis. Thus the project continues to generate both environmental and social benefits.

Hope for Nature, Breath for the Future
Areas to be planted are identified by the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM), while suitable tree species are selected with the support of ecosystem experts. Species identified for Marmaris Hisarönü include Calabrian pine, black pine, carob and bay laurel.
When the seeds sown become trees, the targets are the regreening of 31,250 m² of degraded area, a reduction of 8,813 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year and water savings of 450 million litres per year.

These impacts demonstrate that the project is not only an environmental investment but also a powerful legacy to be left to future generations.

The campaign encourages individuals to contribute to the ecosystem's revival process and aims to increase public awareness of environmental issues. This demonstrates that contributing to nature is an accessible step for everyone.
