Schneider Electric Advocates Wider Adoption of Sustainable Technologies

Schneider Electric recently released two important reports: "The Impending Energy Crisis; Solutions for Data Center Expansion in an Energy-Constrained World" from the Energy Management Research Center and "Artificial Intelligence for Energy Transformation" from the Sustainability Research Institute. These reports present strategies for challenges encountered in a world filled with energy constraints, while aiming to ensure that expansion is both sustainable and economically viable.

Additionally, the reports define a strategy for seamlessly integrating artificial intelligence into our infrastructure to achieve significant decarbonization in the energy sector. Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum, speaking at the IEA global conference held in December 2024, stated that smart and sustainable management is possible while simultaneously leveraging innovations in artificial intelligence to deliver greater productivity, resilience and security.

Schneider Electric is calling for leveraging the momentum around artificial intelligence to accelerate the adoption of existing technologies. The company notes that technologies such as end-to-end artificial intelligence data center solutions or AI-enabled HVAC in buildings will facilitate a successful energy transition and support the development of smart industries.

According to the WEF report, reducing energy consumption with existing technologies can lower energy intensity by 31% and save more than USD 2 trillion annually by 2030. Schneider Electric emphasizes the importance of establishing stronger partnerships and increasing efficiency at the industry level to enable broad-scale application of technology.
