Asaf Avidan

Musician, composer and lyricist Asaf Avidan, who topped the charts with "One Day"/"Reckoning Song," will take the stage at Zorlu PSM Studio on 13-14 March with an impressive performance! Israeli-born musician Asaf Avidan spent his childhood in different geographies including Jamaica, New York and Israel. 2006 was a special year for Avidan. After separating from his girlfriend, the young musician moved to Jerusalem to be with his family and devoted himself entirely to music, releasing the Now That You're Leaving EP consisting of 6 songs that explored his breakup and heartbreak. The same year, to promote his album, he founded the folk-rock group Asaf Avidan & the Mojos, which included Ran Nir on bass guitar, Yoni Sheleg on drums, Roi Peled on guitar and Hadas Kleinman on cello. After releasing the albums The Reckoning (2008), Poor Boy/Lucky Man (2009) and Through the Gale (2010) with Asaf Avidan & The Mojos, Avidan left the group to focus on his solo career. When Berlin-based DJ Wankelmut used "Reckoning Song" in the track "One Day" in 2012 and the song topped the European charts, attention turned to Avidan. The same year his album "Different Pulses" was released, his second album "Gold Shadow" was launched worldwide in early 2015. Avidan released his sixth album "The Study on Falling" in 2017, counting the albums he released with The Mojos, recording the entire album in America with producer Mark Howard, who had previously worked with Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, in order to capture a sound that was a tribute to 1960s America. And as always, with The Study on Falling, Asaf Avidan masterfully demonstrates the atmospheric textures he has woven into the musical genres that inspired him.
