Gilead launched a new awareness campaign in Turkey on HIV infection. Under the umbrella slogan "Together We Are Stronger Than HIV," the campaign draws attention to the fact that HIV can be controlled through short films and posters created with the message "My Greatest Illness." Gilead, a leader in treatments developed to combat HIV infection, launched an awareness campaign on HIV in Turkey. Under the umbrella slogan "Together We Are Stronger Than HIV," the first phase of the campaign titled "My Greatest Illness," which started on social media from 5 July onwards, will continue until the end of December. The short film shot with the slogan "My Greatest Illness" is being released on social media platforms to raise HIV awareness, while posters created with the same slogan will be used to expand HIV knowledge. Through the campaign, whose creative work was carried out by Tazefikir Advertising Agency, the place and importance of hobbies that HIV-positive individuals are passionate about in their lives are emphasized. The short film, in which a young person with an interest in birdwatching expresses himself by saying "My Greatest Illness," was structured to emphasize that HIV-positive individuals can continue to participate in social life by receiving treatment. The campaign, which began with the film shot by director Selim Demirdelen, will continue with the dissemination of posters containing different messages also with the slogan "My Greatest Illness" on social media. The campaign was prepared to support the goal of "conducting awareness activities about the fact that HIV infection in society is a treatable infection, and that regular treatment will prevent the progression of HIV infection to the AIDS stage and reduce transmission," which is included in the "Turkey HIV/AIDS Control Program 2019-2024" Action Plan announced by the Ministry of Health on 2 July 2019. In this context, Gilead particularly aims to increase HIV awareness among people aged 17-45, where the disease is more prevalent. Campaign Has Official Website As part of the campaign, a website named www.birliktehivdengucluyuz.com has been launched, which provides information on HIV prevention methods and testing options, as well as aiming to help HIV-positive individuals protect and strengthen their health holistically. The website in question is a platform designed so that HIV-positive individuals can manage their own health and at the same time obtain information on many topics.
