Henkel's Polyurethane Hot Melt Solution Simplifies White Goods Assembly

Many white goods applications require large glass panel components to be transported within the factory before adhesives cure, and this movement can cause slippage or errors. While temporary positioning methods such as tape have traditionally been used to hold components in place during the adhesive curing process, these approaches require additional time, labor and material costs. Technomelt PUR 9015 BV/WV eliminates this costly and time-consuming extra step by providing high initial tack that allows the product to be transported within minutes. Moreover, although adhesion strength is excellent, if component defects are found during production, Technomelt PUR 9015 BV/WV can be softened and debonded by heat for up to two hours after application; thus protecting high-value components for reassembly and minimizing waste.
Among the unique properties of Technomelt PUR 9015 BV/WV are high initial glass adhesion strength to various surfaces including ABS, PCM and aluminum; adhesive creep resistance at 40°C under vertical load; open time between 2.5 and 8 minutes at 23°C (formulation-specific) and high thermal resistance. This polyurethane adhesive, suitable for automation, has low viscosity optimized for manual or automatic dispensing; this further increases production capacity and manufacturing efficiency.
