Siemens expands scope of collaboration with NVIDIA
Siemens has decided to expand the scope of its collaboration with NVIDIA to advance its industrial metaverse efforts.
The new product to be developed will connect Siemens Xcelerator with NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs (application programming interfaces), delivering collaborative, real-time, physics-based AI-powered visualization. At NVIDIA GTC, Siemens and NVIDIA came together with HD Hyundai to highlight how integrated visualization helps provide greater information and insights.
Siemens and NVIDIA demonstrated at the NVIDIA GTC Conference that generative artificial intelligence can revolutionize the visualization of complex data and enable photorealism, and showed how sustainable shipbuilder HD Hyundai can use this technology to develop new products.
Siemens will integrate interactive visualizations supported by the new NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs into the Siemens Xcelerator platform, enabling more effective use of AI-driven digital twin technology.

In the next phase of collaboration between the two companies, Siemens plans to launch a new product by the end of this year for Teamcenter® X, its industry-leading cloud-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software that is part of the Siemens Xcelerator platform. The system, to be supported by NVIDIA Omniverse technologies, will enable engineering teams to create highly intuitive, photorealistic, real-time, and physics-based digital twins that eliminate waste and errors in workflows. Through the use of generative artificial intelligence, the process of establishing and configuring photorealistic visuals for details such as material definitions and lighting environments, as well as other supporting environmental elements, will be significantly accelerated. By placing engineering data in context as it would appear in the real world, tasks that previously took days can now be completed in hours. Beyond engineering teams, other stakeholders—from sales and marketing teams to decision-makers and customers—will gain deeper insights and understanding of how products will look in the real world, enabling faster and more informed decision-making. Through its collaboration with NVIDIA, Siemens demonstrated to HD Hyundai, a market leader in sustainable shipbuilding, the process of creating real-time and photorealistic visualization. HD Hyundai is developing ships powered by ammonia and hydrogen that have highly complex processes that can contain more than seven million individual parts. Using the new product from Siemens and NVIDIA, HD Hyundai will be able to interactively combine and visualize massive engineering data sets. Taejin Lee, Head of Information Technology and Digital Processes at HD Hyundai, commented on the matter: "We have long relied on Siemens Teamcenter for product lifecycle management.
