According to data from İKMİB, the chemical industry achieved USD 10.018 billion in exports during the first half of 2019, recording growth of 18.83% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Chemical sector exports in June 2019 fell 8.63% to USD 1.3 billion compared to June 2018.
The Netherlands was the leading export destination in June. Chemical exports to the Netherlands reached USD 110.663 million in June 2019.
In June, the main exports to the Netherlands comprised mineral fuels, mineral oils and products; plastics and plastic goods; inorganic chemicals; essential oils, cosmetics and soap; miscellaneous chemical substances; rubber and rubber goods.
Six-month chemical exports to the Netherlands in 2019 reached USD 417.758 million. Following the Netherlands in the top ten destinations in June were Malta, USA, Iraq, Germany, Nigeria, Italy, Spain, Egypt and Greece.
Among the leading chemical export destinations in January-June 2019, Spain, Malta, Germany, Iraq, Italy, the Netherlands, USA, Egypt, Greece and the United Kingdom ranked in the top ten.
