TECNO and DXOMARK Launch World's First Fully Automated Imaging Lab

TECNO, an AI-focused innovative technology brand, and DXOMARK, a global authority in imaging, have launched the world's first fully automated imaging laboratory in Chongqing, China.
AI-focused innovation technology brand TECNO and global imaging authority DXOMARK have inaugurated the world's first fully automated imaging laboratory in Chongqing, China.
The TECNO DXOMARK Joint Imaging Laboratory is the first facility to implement DXOMARK's advanced Camera V6 automation solutions. The new laboratory aims to elevate scientific standards for imaging technologies in smartphones.
Precision and Inclusive Testing through Robotic Automation
The laboratory is equipped with robotic arms operating without human intervention and AI-powered test systems. Thanks to six 3D head models and scientifically calibrated color charts representing different skin tones worldwide, color and texture reproduction can be measured with high precision.
The facility also analyzes imaging preferences of users in different regions, enabling optimization of exposure, color and noise reduction algorithms. This allows for more intelligent and localized assessments tailored to different markets.
"Raising the Bar in Imaging Innovation"
Speaking at the inauguration, DXOMARK CEO Frédéric Guichard stated:
"The TECNO DXOMARK Joint Imaging Laboratory demonstrates our shared vision of raising the bar in imaging innovation and smartphone performance. By combining our scientific expertise with advanced automated laboratory technologies, we are providing TECNO with efficiency, precision and comprehensive assessments in their development processes."
Fanyi Zhou, Head of TECNO Image Quality Test Laboratory, commented:
"As the world's first fully automated laboratory using the Camera V6 standard, this partnership accelerates our innovation processes and enables us to deliver more authentic and inclusive experiences for global users."
New Standard in Global User Experience
The new laboratory aims to make the global user experience more authentic and personalized through its inclusive approach that considers diversity of skin tones and specialized assessments that analyze photography preferences across different geographies.
In line with its "Keep Moving Forward" philosophy, TECNO positions this project as an important step toward a universally inclusive future in smartphone imaging technologies as part of its continuous innovation strategy.
