  Bentonite in Solvent and Water-Based Systems Bentonite is defined as a clay containing predominantly montmorillonite, formed as a result of chemical weathering of volcanic ash, tuff and lava, which is rich in aluminum and magnesium. Bentonite is a versatile clay used in sectors such as paints, agriculture, mining, food, ceramics, cement, animal feed, pharmaceuticals and engineering geology. As Hecckem Kimya, with our BENTOVIS® series bentonite rheological additives, we have established our presence in water and solvent-based systems, particularly in the paints sector, as well as in many other sectors such as inks, greases, petroleum drilling. BENTOVIS® series products regulate rheology in paints by providing thixotropic effect, enable application suitable for work on non-horizontal surfaces through shear control, prevent brush marks through excellent flow, provide application ease by preventing splattering, and with viscosity control properties, prevent pigment settling in products stored for extended periods.
